This policy aims to inform you why we use “cookies”, what they do, and what choices you have regarding their use.
Cookies are small text files that are created by our web server at the request of your browser and stored on your end device. Their purpose is generally to identify your device and its behavior when visiting our websites.
There are two types of cookies – persistent cookies and temporary (session) cookies.
Session cookies are temporarily stored on your computer during your visit to our website and are deleted once you close the website.
Persistent cookies are stored as a file on your computer or mobile device for a longer period of time.
With the exception of cookies that are strictly necessary for the functioning of our website, we store cookies on your end device only with your consent. If you do not wish to accept cookies, you can adjust your browser settings accordingly – further information can be found at the end of this document.
If you prefer not to receive cookies during your visit to our website, you may refuse them by configuring your internet browser to warn you before accepting a cookie or to reject cookies when your browser notifies you of their presence. You may also reject all cookies by disabling them in your internet browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of this and many other websites you visit. Disabled cookies usually also result in the deactivation of certain functions of our website.
You know when and whether your browser receives cookies because it informs you upon your first visit. In this way, you have the opportunity to accept or reject a cookie.
Your browser can be configured to reject all cookies. If you would like to learn how to do this, please visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org/ or the Microsoft Cookie Guide at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/260971/description-of-cookies.
Please note that changes to your browser that disable the cookie function may result in the website not functioning properly.
You can choose which cookies you allow or reject by visiting the relevant settings pages of your browser:

Certain cookies are required in order to securely provide our services via the website. This category includes, for example:
– cookies that identify or authenticate our users;
– cookies that temporarily store certain user data (e.g. contents of an online form);
– cookies that store specific user preferences (e.g. search or language settings);
– cookies that store data to ensure smooth playback of video or audio content.
We use analytical cookies to track user behavior (e.g. clicks on advertising banners, entered search queries) and to statistically analyze these actions.
We also use cookies for advertising purposes. Usage profiles created through such cookies (e.g. clicks on advertising banners, visited subpages, entered search queries) are used by us to display advertising or offers that correspond to your interests (“interest-based advertising”).
We also allow other companies to analyze user data by means of advertising cookies. This enables us and third parties to display interest-based advertising to users of our website, based on an analysis of your usage behavior (e.g. clicks on advertising banners, visited subpages, entered search queries), and is not limited solely to our own online offerings.
Our partners for referral tracking place cookies on your computer (“referral cookies”) if you have accessed our website via an advertisement of the respective partner. These cookies generally expire after 30 days. If you visit certain pages hosted by us and the cookie has not yet expired, we and the respective conversion tracking partner can recognize that a specific user clicked on the advertisement and was redirected to our website. The information collected using referral cookies is used to generate statistical evaluations of referrals and to determine the total number of users who clicked on the respective advertisement and were redirected to a page marked with a referral tracking tag.
We require statistical information about the use of our website in order to make it more user-friendly, to measure reach, and to conduct market research.
For this purpose, we use the web analytics tools described in this section.
The user profiles created by these tools, either through analytical cookies or by evaluating log files, do not contain personal data. The tools either do not use users’ IP addresses or shorten them immediately after collection.
The providers of these tools process the data exclusively as processors on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions, and not for their own purposes.
Below you will find information about the respective tool providers and how you can object to the collection and processing of personal data by the respective tool.
Please note that for tools that use cookies for the opt-out function, the objection is device- and browser-specific and therefore applies only to the currently used device or browser. If you use multiple devices or browsers, you must perform the opt-out separately on each device and in each browser.
In addition, you can generally prevent the creation of user profiles by disabling the use of cookies.
Google Analytics is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). We use Google Analytics with the additional IP anonymization feature offered by Google. Google truncates the IP address within the European Union and only in exceptional cases in the USA; in both cases, only shortened IP addresses are stored.
You can object to the collection and processing of your data by downloading and installing the browser add-on available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
